In the township of Nam Tit, poppy growing is the most common source of income for many families. The government’s new 15-year plan to cease poppy growing has increased the vulnerability of these families. Recent survey results indicate that 82% of households that grew poppies can no longer meet their food needs. As a result these communities are at high risk of famine and disease.
Your money will also provide for the upkeep of the Buffalo, including shelter, food supplies, medical care and livestock training for the family to ensure that their greatest asset is well looked after.
