ADRA Service Pin Recipients

In early February 2026, two volunteers from the ADRA Community Centre Logan in Queensland, Brian and Debbie, were presented with ADRA service pins.

Debbie has been volunteering with ADRA for 17 years, and Brian for an incredible 27 years. Both were excited to receive their pins and expressed how honoured they were to wear them at Logan every day.

Debbie is at the heart of the food hamper program. “Her exceptional leadership ensures everything runs with precision and care,” says Lisa Booth, ADRA Regional Manager South Queensland. “She manages every aspect of the operation with remarkable attention to detail; she knows exactly what’s in stock, what’s needed, and how to keep the entire process flowing smoothly.”

Debbie leads a dedicated team of volunteers, guiding them through the sorting and packing of the food hampers so that every parcel goes out full, thoughtfully arranged, and looking wonderful.

Her work ethic is extraordinary, but it’s her genuine heart for serving others that truly sets her apart.

“Debbie consistently goes above and beyond to make sure families receive not just food, but dignity and kindness,” says Ms Booth. “The humility and dedication she brings to her role inspires everyone around her, shaping a culture of compassion and teamwork within the centre.”

For 27 years, Brian has faithfully served the ADRA Logan community through the daily bread run and countless other pick-ups and deliveries.

“Day after day, Brian has shown up without hesitation, ensuring this essential service continued, regardless of weather, schedule, or circumstance,” says Ms Booth. “His contribution has been one of quiet consistency, a steady
presence our community has come to rely on.”

Across nearly three decades, Brian has always been willing to help wherever needed. His reliability, gentle spirit, and positive attitude have made a lasting impact on those he serves and on every volunteer who has had the privilege of working alongside him.

“We are deeply grateful for Brian’s 27 years of commitment, generosity, and unwavering support,” Ms Booth says.

Both Debbie and Brian embody the very best of ADRA’s mission. Their dedication reminds us that lasting change is built through consistent acts of kindness, offered one day at a time. Their service is not only valued, but also celebrated.
